About Us

Mission

Cambridge-Isanti Youth Football is a youth organization dedicated to developing young athletes with values of integrity, character, empathy and moral courage, to learn and love the game of football, while becoming good stewards for others and their community.

Purpose

The purpose of the organization is to provide developmental, training, and/or competitive events and opportunities designed to promote and support the youth of the Cambridge-Isanti Community while enhancing their understanding and appreciation of football as a team sport.

History

Youth Football has been a part of this community since approximately 2006. Our players mostly consisting of Cambridge and Isanti residents but also include many other surrounding cities and communities.

As our program continued to grow year after year, and the community continued to expand, so did the demand for other program opportunities through youth football.

In 2024, a small group of like-minded individuals came together, and the new Youth Board was put in place and the Cambridge-Isanti Youth Football Organization (CIYFO) was officially formed. We are now a 501(c)(3) team, working together to make our youth program a success.

Today, over 160 kids play tackle football for the Cambridge-Isanti Youth Football program; 100+ kids attend our summer camp, 120+ kids for our passing league, and with a new flag football league starting in 2025, we hope to continue to grow these numbers year after year!

These players are residents in the Cambridge, Isanti and surrounding areas. Most will eventually attend and play for Cambridge-Isanti High School.

Code of Ethics

The Cambridge-Isanti Youth Football Organization believes strongly in our Code of Conduct for players and parents, as well as our coaches! Please feel free to read and discuss our code of conduct.

When you register for our tackle and flag football seasons, each player, family and coach will be required to complete and agree to abide by the code of conduct for CIYFO.

Inclement Weather & Cancellation

Cambridge-Isanti Youth Football tackle games will be cancelled for severe weather (lightning) or if fields have been subjected to prolonged wet/rainy conditions. Lightning can strike up to 10 miles ahead or behind a storm. Games are to be postponed IMMEDIATELY and all players/spectators and officials are to seek appropriate shelter. Games are to resume no sooner than 30 minutes after the last sight and sound of a thunder and lightning storm. Games will be called at the field by the referees after a discussion with both Head Coaches. Please do not assume a game will be canceled and not show up – it will result in a forfeit.

Otherwise, all flag and tackle games and summer program offerings can and will be conducted in rainy conditions (if the weather is not severe and fields are still playable).

Each coach is allowed to use his/her discretion on canceling practices for any reason and is responsible for communicating the cancellation of practice(s) to parents.
